Indian banks are not currently supported due to regulatory and cost challenges with India’s open banking ecosystem.

Challenges

  1. Licensing Requirements: Open banking access in India requires partnership with a licensed Account Aggregator (AA)
  2. High Minimum Costs: Integration costs through providers like Setu would require a large Indian user base to justify
  3. B2B Focus: India’s open banking ecosystem is primarily designed for B2B use cases rather than personal finance apps
We’ve researched India’s Account Aggregator ecosystem and spoken with providers, but the economics don’t work at our current scale.
